 I built a custom plugin to display a reviews block, a widget featuring the last five books, and custom post types, enriching the visitor’s experience. The custom block I created for displaying reviews offers many customization options, such as color changes and showing/hiding content. The Book Widget contains more options for users if they don’t want to include all of the post types as a focus on the page but still leads the user to the same place. For each custom post type, there are additional fields when creating each post that include metadata that caters to both Books and Reviews.

The project’s database infrastructure is managed and optimized utilizing phpMyAdmin, ensuring seamless data management and accessibility.

For my final project in my PHP class, I created a website dedicated to movie reviews, leveraging PHP, phpMyAdmin, and MySQL technologies. When I made this project 2 years ago, it was a simple webpage with movies and reviews displayed using tables. There were no images, or any fancy CSS, just a bright green table. My goal for this project was to give it a stylistic overhaul, fix the smaller development bugs, and expand the content in my database.

Reel Reviews allows users to seamlessly explore an array of films, submit their ratings, and reviews, and peruse the opinions of other users. The project displays my adeptness in utilizing advanced web development tools and frameworks such as Bootstrap, PHPMyAdmin, and MySQL to create engaging and functional digital experiences.

Additional features of include the statistics, which display assignments completed on time, late, total completed, and the user’s percentage rate of completion on time. The chart, which was made using vue-chartJS, was added to include another element of interactiveness, as it updates in real-time as the user completes assignments. Meticulously crafted using Bootstrap components and custom SCSS elements, the user interface is , resulting in a polished and intuitive user experience.

My journey with this project began as the final of my Web Design 2 course during my first year in the program. At that time, I created this site solely with HTML and CSS, designed for a website tailored to a make-believe coffee shop named Thanks A Latte. It wasn’t quite responsive and I didn’t quite understand the importance of SEO and sizing of elements.

The Redesign of Thanks A Latte

For my Capstone, I completely rebuilt this site with all my newfound knowledge over the past few years. I wanted to keep the integrity of the original website, such as the colors and themes. The resulting website represents the culmination of my skill set, crafted using cutting-edge technologies including Bootstrap, Vue.js, Firebase, and NPM. Notable features of this revamped platform include a personalized quiz functionality designed to tailor the coffee selection experience to individual preferences, user authentication, an events calendar, and seamless data management capabilities.

By including responsive design principles, the website ensures an optimal viewing experience across devices while prioritizing user engagement and satisfaction. This project is a testament to my growth and dedication to delivering exceptional digital solutions.
